Phone Call: Will It Turn Out Just Fine? (Chapter IV)

The next morning, I saw him on again. He started the conversation. Well, we were just talking about some stuff he used to do in Guam. All of the sudden, he asked for my cell phone number which I thought not proper to give especially for a person you just met online. He said it is much easier to talk over the phone than chatting. I have heard a lot of stories where people being fooled by scammers. I didn't think he was one of those but for safe reason, I didn't want to just give my number that easily.

I was about to refuse on giving my number when I saw my boss behind me. If I'll refuse and explained my reason he'll spot I was chatting to someone. As fast as I could, I typed my number and sent it to him. The purpose for it was to avoid any explanation why I am refusing to give my digits when in fact we've been talking for quite a while now.

If he was one of those people who were fooling people online, I could easily change my number. He said he couldn't wait to talk to me that night. Well, I was really thrilled about it. I could feel that my heartbeat was beating like a drum while waiting for that moment.

When I got home, I kept on looking at my phone. I felt this great anticipation because I wanted to hear his voice. Will he be polite? At exactly 7:00 o'clock pm, my phone rings. Oh my, my hands were trembling while I push the answer button. With a small voice, I uttered "Hello". I was really tensed. It's my first time to talk to someone from the other country - a person that was a stranger to me.
